Cardi B Deactivates Instagram Account Few Hours After Taking Down IG Post

American rapper, Cardi B has deactivated her Instagram account hours after her Grammy win. The former stripper got the nod for the Best Rap Album category becoming the first solo artist to win the category and most notably in a year where hardcore male rappers like J Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Drake had also released their albums.

The rapper was called out by fans of the genre especially those of Nicki Minaj who felt that Cardi has no right to get the award before main rival, Nicki Minaj.

Nicki was dragged for hours on social media for failing to win before her main rival and new comer, Cardi. BET also joined the troll when they posted a picture of Cardi winning the Best Album Grammy with the caption “Meanwhile Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.”

Nicki in response to BET troll retweeted a post by a fan which read: “Nicki Minaj didn’t revive a whole genre, write her own raps for over a decade, & bring y’all ghetto ass award shows viewers for y’all to disrespect and bully her like this.”

Fans of the Anaconda singer didn’t take things lightly with Cardi as they emphasized that the latter didn’t deserve the award considering that producers of the Grammy have never handed Nicki a Grammy despite ushering female rap into a world where male rappers had previously dominated.

Following all the backlash, Cardi went online to defend her Grammy win via an Instagram post citing that she had put in a lot of work on the album and so got the award accordingly.

She also went on to call those who said she didn’t deserve the Best Rap Album of the Year award before putting down the posts later on.

Shortly after, she deactivated her Instagram account and has taken to Twitter now to share what her Grammy winning day felt like.
