CCT orders arrest of suspended CJN Justice Walter Onnoghen

– According to the CCT, it ordered the police and the DSS to bring the Justice Walter Onnoghen before it on Friday
According to a new report, the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT has issued an arrest warrant to the Nigerian Police and the Department of State Service DSS to go ahead and arrest the suspended Chief Judge of Nigeria CJN, Justice Walter Onnnoghen.
The latest decision was reached by the Tribunal after the suspended CJN refused to appear before it today once again.
According to what iDONSABI.COM gathered, the Umar Danladi led panel directed the Inspector General of Police and Department of State Service DSS to execute the arrest warrant and see to it that Justice Walter Onnoghen is provided before the panel on the adjourned date.

This latest arrest warrant comes after the Federal Government had submitted an application for a bench warrant to be issued against the suspended CJN.
The FG made this move after Justice Walter Onnoghen failed to appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal to answer to the six charged leveled against him over none declaration of assets.
A report from the proceeding disclosed that the government lawyer, Mr. Aliyu Umar, relied on section 6 (1) of the CCT Practice Direction and section 396 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, and called for the application for a bench warrant against the defendant.
Mr Umar in his statement said, “May I draw your attention and the honorable members to the fact that the defendant is not in court today.
“I hereby humbly apply for a warrant of arrest against the defendant.”
Also present at the proceeding was the defense counsel, Adegboyega Awolowo.
