– According to the tribunal, it is pending the trial based on an order from the Court of Appeal

The Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT has pend the trial of Justice Walter Onnoghen which was expected to continue today.

According to a statement made public by the tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, he made it known that the trial has been pended based on an order from the Court of Appeal.

He noted that the case has been adjourned indefinitely pending on the decision of the Court of Appeal.

In view of the Court of Appeal order for stay of proceedings and out of respect for the Court of Appeal, the tribunal hereby adjourn this matter sine-die (indefinitely) pending the determination of the Appeal before the Court of Appeal”, Umar ruled.

The Tribunal chairman Danladi Umar and another member of the panel Mrs. Julie Amabo were the only one present.

Mr. Willian Agwadza Atedze, a second member of the panel was absent.

A report made it known that Mr. Atedze had disagreed with the Tribunal chairman, Umar Danladi over procedures adopted in the trial of the suspended Justice Walter Onnoghen.

This latest development is coming after the Code of Conduct Tribunal had reportedly ordered the Federal Government to suspend Justice Walter Onnoghen on Friday.

Pres. Buhari following the suspension of Walter Onnoghen had gone ahead to swear in Justice Mohammed Tanko as the acting Chief Judge of Nigeria.

According to the FG, the suspension handed to Justice Walter Onnoghen will help him focus on his trail with the CCT.

In another report, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar organized a world press conference over the trending issue which is the suspension of Walter Onnoghen.
