Chelsea Shove Burnley Aside With Excellent Win

Chelsea strolled past their opponents, Burnley while keeping things tidy at the back. It was a massive win for the London Blues who came into the game on the back of some recent poor performances.

Unlike games against West Ham, Bournemouth and Southampton, Chelsea played with a bit more intention and an eye for details in the final third. The result? The London Blues had gone 2-0 up against Burnley by the interval, thanks to a beautiful penalty  by Jorginho and Chelsea academy graduate, Reece James.

Callum Hudson-Odoi then rounded up the win with an emphatic statement, his first league goal as his career. Burnley, known to be a bogey team were completely swept up the whims and caprices of Frank Lampard who had tweaked his midfield a little bit.

The English boss who is quickly turning out to be a beautiful tactician opted to start with Barkley, Jorginho and Mount in midfield with Hudson-Odoi, Willian and centre striker, Tammy Abraham completing the front three.

The former Derby County gaffer also handed Andreas Christensen his first ever league start since a defeat to Merseyside club, Everton sometime last month. That change in defence might have been responsible for helping Chelsea to their first clean sheet at the Stamford Bridge in the League for two months running.

That lack of goals for Burnley could also have been down to their lack of options attacking-wise with injury to Ashley Barnes and Jay Rodriguez missing the game due to illness proving costly for Sean Dyche’s men.

Reece James put up an exceedingly impressive performance, one Ben Mee and Lowton had problems dealing with. His crosses to Tammy Abraham were inch perfect and could have led to goals on a normal day.

It was a blessed day for Frank Lampard’s charges as screams, blaring of horns and shouts rang throughout the stadium in favour of the Blues.
