Chelsea Vs West Ham EPL 08 April Match Preview

Chelsea play hosts to West Ham United in a London derby to be played at the Stamford Bridge knowing fully well that a win could move them into the top four and possibly to third place ahead of North London club,  Tottenham.

Chelsea

Every match for Chelsea at the moment needs some fierce response from the Londoners as they have been adjudged by fans to be poorer and poorer with every passing match. Sarri has taken the greatest bouts of the blame as his signings – Jorginho and Higuain – haven’t impressed much.

Speaking for the Italian gaffer, Sarri has stirred Chelsea to a Champions League spot and they have infact only lost once at home.

They got to the finals of the EFL cup and are in the latter stages of the Europa league. That said, they haven’t been impressive in front of goal and needed two late crucial goals to claim a win against Cardiff City.

Chelsea will be looking to get the much needed win to qualify for Champions League football come next season.

West Ham United

One can’t make much of what the Hammer’s performances this season have been with the calibre of players they parade in their squad.

They have alternated between wins and defeats in their last six games and even lost the five matches preceding those.

The Hammers have lost six of their last seven games on the road producing a run that has seen them claim a meagre one point out of the 18 points up for grabs.

That said,  they are only five points away from the last spot available for European football and a win here could see their European dreams come alive.
