College Votes Confirm Trump as 45th US President

Presidential election results coming in from the America Electoral College has confirmed Donald Trump’s victory as the 45th president of the United States of America.

Six weeks ago, Hillary Clinton was favorite to become the first Female President of the United States of America but Donald Trump was to bury that dream as he won the elections and became the first outsider to win a presidential election in America.

However, there was still a flicker of hope for the Democrats and Hillary as the result from the electoral college votes had not yet come in. But then nothing would come between Donald Trump and the White House as he emerged Victorious once again. Trump swept the expected 270 votes needed to make his victory binding and official.

Reports emanating from the US media, reports that, Trump has been declared winner of the 2016 presidential elections and will be president instead of Barrack Obama come January.

The American Electoral College vote works in this way: the US voters who cast ballots on the said date (November 8), don’t directly elect the president but rather they elect 538 electors who are charged with translating their wishes into reality.

Yesterday, Trump, won a clear majority of those electors: 306.

A statement released by Donald Trump’s team, had  welcomed the “overwhelming vote” in his favor, while also acknowledging the Democrats who tried to block him.

“With this historic step we can look forward to the bright future ahead,” the statement read.

70-year-old Trump tweeted after the results came in:

“I will work hard to unite our country and be the president of all Americans.”

“We did it!”, Thank you to all of my great supporters, we just officially won the election despite all of the distorted and inaccurate media.”
