Confirmed! Ibrahim Idris Finally Bows Out As IGP, AIG Mohammed Abubakar Adamu Takes Over

– The controversies surrounding the retirement of the now former IGP, Ibrahim Idris has been finally laid to rest

– Pres. Muhammad Buhari has appointed AIG Mohammed Abubakar Adamu as the new Acting IGP

Finally, it is time for the IGP Idris Ibrahim to bow out of office at the age of 60 and in his place, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu will take over, although according to what IDonSabi gathered he is still the acting IGP until formal confirmations are done.

This comes barely few weeks after there were growing controversies bothering on the retirement of the now former IGP, Ibrahim Idris.

The new report about the new appointment was made public by the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood.

According to the Police PRO, Jimoh Moshood, president Mohammadu Buhari has directed the outgoing IGP to handover to Mohammed Abubakar Adamu as the new acting IGP.

He said, “The outgoing Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, deeply thank the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria for the opportunity given to him to serve under his administration as Inspector General of Police,”

“He also sincerely expresses gratitude to all Nigerians across the Country for the cooperation and support they accorded him and the entire personnel of the Force during his tenure. He enjoined them to extend the same level of support and assistance to his successor, Ag. IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, mni.”

Going by records, the new acting Inspector General of Police, Ag. IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, mni is from Lafia in Nasarawa State and he also holds a degree in Geography.

He joined the Nigerian Police Force on the 1st of February, 1986 as Cadet Assistant Inspector General of Police.

Prior to becoming the new Inspector General of Police, Adamu was the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti and Enugu States.
