Confirmed: Yakubu Dogara returns to PDP

– Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara officially announced his return to the PDP

– He also disclosed two other members of the house officially switch allegiance to the PDP

– The House of Reps also fix N30,000 as the new minimum wage 

The Speaker of the lower legislative chamber, House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara today officially announced his return to Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

He made this known during a plenary today in the country’s federal capital, Abuja.

Yakubu Dogara and Senate President, Bukola Saraki had left the ruling party, All Progressive Congress for some months now but none of them have ever made it official at the floor of the House.

Member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the House of Reps celebrated the news with joy.

Yakubu Dogara also announced the return of two representatives to the opposition party, PDP

The two representatives are Ahmed Yerima representing Misau/Damdam constituency in Bauchi State and Edward Pwajok, who represents Jos South-East constituency in Plateau State.

However, neither Yakubu Dogara nor any of the other two lawmakers gave any reason why they were leaving the ruling party.

Yakubu Dogara also picked a nomination form under the party to return to the House of Reps in 2019.

In another news, the House of Reps showed their support for the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC by fixing the new minimum wage at N30,000 during the plenary today.

The minimum wage bill has been read for the third time in the House of Representatives.

According to information made available to the public, the House of Reps will return to discuss more on the minimum wage after the 2019 Presidential election slated for Feb. 16.

The House of Reps will resume on the 19th of February.
