Coronavirus Case is Nigeria Rises to Eight

The indexes of coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to eight.

This was confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Health. Previously, there were three, but now there are five new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria within the last 36 hours.

Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire said that three of the positive case arrived from the United States, while 2 came in from the United Kingdom.

“We are still collating information on the travelers; 2 of the 3 from the US are Nigerians, a mother and child, making the 6 weeks old baby the youngest COVID-19 patient we have, and the 3rd is an American national, who crosses the land border and became the first COVID-19 case not arriving by air.

“The 2 cases from the UK are Nigerian,” he added.

Meanwhile, Katsina state has also announced its first suspected case COVID 19.

Speaking with newsmen during a briefing, the Permanent Secretary of the State’s Ministry of Health, Dr Kabir Musptapha a briefing, that the patient who is presently on self-isolation returned from Malaysia and developed symptoms that warrant further investigations.

According to him, the patient’s samples have been taken and that results were being expected by tomorrow. He also revealed that that contact tracing will commence as soon the test results are out
