Court In Nigeria Orders the Re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Thursday, March 28th, ordered the re-arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) identified as Nnamdi Kanu.

The court presided over by a judge identified as Binta Nyako gave the order on Thursday, March 28th, after revoking the bail granted to the IPOB leader in the year 2017.

In addition, the court made it clear that it has given the order because Nnamdi Kanu had failed to appear in court after his bail was granted in April of 2017.

Furthermore, the court also ruled that the trial must continue and directed that a fresh date for the continuation should be given by parties so that the matter will continue in Mr Kanu’s absence.

However, the case of Nnamdi Kanu was adjourned till June 18, 2019.

Nnamdi Kanu, a separatist leader calling for an independent Biafran country, dodged bail when he escaped out of the country to Israel.

Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu has since appeared in several videos which surfaced online criticising Nigerian leaders and government of their poor leadership and government.
