Court Remands 2 Persons For Allegedly Stabbing Friend To Death Over N3,000

Two persons identified as Aliyu Hassan who is 28-years-old, and Abdullahi Hassan who is 30-years-old, both hailing from Sabon Gidan, along Jebba in Miro local government area of Kwara State and who allegedly joined hands together and killed their friend over the sum of N3,000 have been remanded at the Federal Prison Yard, Ilorin, Kwara state.

The order to remand the offenders was made by a Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin before which they were present on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy ad culpable homicide, contrary to Sections 97 and 221 of Penal Code Law.

According to the person who is complaining, Hassan, the first person accused invited the deceased to come and collect the sum of N3,000 he (accused) was owing him and since then he never returned back home.

But, when a search team was made, his dead body was found in a bush near the residence of the accused, while the deceased’s two wrists and throat were cut in pieces.

The complainant also informed police that when the accused saw the family of the deceased coming to their residence both of them ran away but were arrested.

It was also alleged that the first accused, Hassan, stabbed the deceased to death in a strange way.

The prosecutor identified as Roda Kayode told the court that the alleged offence committed by the accused were capital in nature and not ordinary offence stressing that it cost the life of an individual.

Roda Kayode rejected the bail of the accused and urged the court to remand the accused in prison custody pending the outcome of the investigation.

The magistrate identified as Mrs. Jumoke Bello, who rejected to take the begging of the accused for lack of jurisdiction to try the matter, ordered that the accused be remanded at the Federal Prison Yard, Ilorin until the next adjourned date which is still yet unknown.
