Covid-19: Lagos won’t bring tourism to a halt, commissioner promises innovations
Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharmacists Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, has promised innovation in the sector.
She, therefore, assured residents of the state that the fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic by the state government will not bring a total halt to the tourism and entertainment industry of the State.
She made the promise while speaking at a ministerial press briefing commemorating the first year in office of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu held at JJT Park, Alausa, Ikeja.
Akinbile-Yusuf stated that the economy of the state thrives significantly on the activities of practitioners in the sector who should not be kept out of job permanently and who acknowledged the fact that the sector remains one of the worst-hit sectors by the pandemic.
She however, maintained that it behooves the state government and practitioners in the sector to be ingenious in their approaches to the “new normal” which the economy of the world is assuming.
