COVID-19 Nigeria Update Today
Nigeria has recorded an additional 403 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and it now has over 16,000 confirmed cases.
This time around, Gombe has 73 cases, followed by Lagos, the epicenter with 68, Kano-46, Edo-36, FCT-35, Nasarawa-31, Kaduna-17, Oyo-16, Abia-15, Delta-13, Borno-13, Plateau-8, Niger-7, Rivers-7, Enugu-6, Ogun-6, Kebbi-3, Ondo-1, Anambra-1, and Imo-1.
From the 16,085 confirmed cases, 5,220 patients have been discharged while 420 deaths have been recorded as well.

Delta Gov’t to ensure safety measures across schools before resumption
The Delta state government has said that academic activities will not resume until adequate safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are put in place across schools in the state.
This opposition of the government was made known bt commissioner for Information Mr. Charles Aniagwu while briefing reporters in Warri, adding that schools may not open next week.
It was reported that primary and secondary schools were to resume on Monday, June 8. But, Aniagwu noted that necessary precautions, including fumigation of schools’ environment, have to be done before pupils and students could return to classrooms.
COVID-19: Lagos discharges 48 patients
The Lagos state government has discharged another 48 patients after they fully recovered from COVID-19 in the state.

They are 31 males and 17 females including 10 foreign nationals – 2 Indians, 4 Americans, 2 polish, 1 Brazilian & 1 Dutch.
The patients, 1 from Onikan, 8 from Gbagada, 10 from Agidingbi, 14 from Lekki, 4 from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, and 11 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19.
Lagos has now successfully managed and discharged 1185 patients.
