COVID-19 Cases in Nigeria now 373

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 35 new infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the country to 442.

Of the thirty-five: 19 was in Lagos 9 in FCT 5 in Kano 2 in Oyo while 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths recorded.

Here are the realtime information of each state on the number of cases record. Lagos- 251, FCT- 67, Kano- 21, Osun- 20, Edo- 15, Oyo- 13, Ogun- 9, Katsina- 7, Bauchi- 6, Kaduna- 6, Akwa Ibom- 6, Kwara- 4, Delta- 4, Ondo- 3, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-2, Niger- 2, Benue and Anambra have one each.

FG gets vital supplies from UN

The Federal Government has confirmed receiving from the United Nations (UN) ital medical supplies to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the government, the UN supplied 10,000 test kits, 15 oxygen concentrators, and various personal protective equipment (PPE), and other vital health supplies.

The PPEs will be used by those on the front line and provide care and treatment to people affected by the virus.

States without COVID-19 cases ready

Some states without COVID-19 has they were ready to tackle the coronavirus pandemic should it spread to their territories.

Currently, 19 states have recorded having COVID-19 patients. They are Lagos, Osun, Kano, Edo, Oyo, Ogun, Katsina, Bauchi, Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, Kwara, Delta, Ondo, Enugu, Ekiti, Rivers, Niger, Benue and Anambra, as well as to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The respective health commissioners in Abia, Kogi, Ebonyi, Borno, Yobe, Sokoto, Kebbi and Imo reiterated their readiness for any case.

15 patients discharged in Lagos, Ogun, Kwara, others

After testing negative twice, fifteen Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients were discharged in five states on Thursday.

Five were discharged in Lagos; four in Bauchi ; three in Ogun; two in Kwara and one in Enugu..

Menegian, whose death was announced in a Facebook post by her sister Noo, died of coronavirus at a London hospital. The other deaths were recorded in Lagos (three) and one in Kano.

Anambra monitoring 39 contacts closely

The Anambra state government has assured the people of close and daily monitoring of the 39 contacts of the COVID-19 index case in the state.

The State Commissioner for Health Dr. Vincent Okpala said the ministry had received cooperation from the index case who, he said, was receiving attention.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Okpala said three of the 39 contacts were outside the state, promising protection of their identities in line with international standard practice.

 

 

Jimoh Ibrahim donates N40m to Ondo

Nigeria businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, has donated N40m to the Ondo State Government to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

Whule making donation in Akure, Ondo State capital, Jimoh urged Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to involve private hospitals as testing centres.

Ibrahim said the NICON Group hoped to replicate the support in six other states.
