COVID-19: Policemen Destroy Goods of Shop Owners Who Disobeyed Lockdown Order [Video]
A video seeing some policemen destroying goods of some shop owners who failed to lock their shops and stay at home as instructed by the Lagos State Government.
The order was in a bid to curtail the spread of the COVID-19. Currently, Nigeria has 65 positive cases with three discharged and one dead.
The number increased to 65 after 14 new cases were confirmed. Out of the positive cases, there were two 2 in FCT, 12 in Lagos. Out of the 14, 6 were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travellers into Nigeria and one is a close contact of a confirmed case.

This is madness. If these officers are not immediately and severely punished, it means that Lagos is a banana republic.
We cannot allow this type of reckless abuse of power under any circumstance.@PoliceNG these are your officers. Is this how to fight coronavirus virus? pic.twitter.com/q310pmYRzt

Many have reacted to the video, lambasting that the security agents would have lock up the shops instead of creating more loss for the owners. See some reactions from the Twitter community.
The control measures for #COVID19 are increasingly rife with abuse. Here are @PoliceNG personnel wreaking havoc at a location reportedly in Ikorodu, in the territory of @followlasg. This is clearly disproportionate vandalism done in the name of enforcement. pic.twitter.com/nVmZSNdR6H

They should have just shutdown the shop rather than destroy goods. Imagine none of them wear a face mask or hand glove .

This was what I feared. The police and military may end up causing more harm and even deaths than COVID19 in an ‘effort to battle COVID19’. ??♀️

In these hard times when businesses are challenged and millions more nigerians will lose their jobs. This is cruel beyond measure. The IGP must send strong message nationwide for police to do no damage
