COVID-19: Spain’s Daily Death Increases After Slightly Reducing Restriction

Spain has recorded 435 deaths in the past 24 hours, which a slight increase on Tuesday’s figure.

The European country’s death toll is now 21,717.

With restrictions lifted a little bit for some non-essential workers to return to work, the country’s parliament is debating a request from the prime minister to extend the current state of emergency until 9 May.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has said that his government plans to start winding down the country’s lockdown measures after the said date.

“We will be going back-and-forth depending on how the pandemic evolves,” he said.

According to reports, the Spanish government intends to eased restriction slowly and gradually to ensure safety.

Speaking at a parliamentary session. Sanchez is also expected to extend Spain’s state of emergency until 9 May.
