DAAR Communications still Breaching Broadcasting Codes – NBC insists

– The NBC has stated that DAAR Communications is still breaching broadcasting codes

– This comes barely 24 hours after the decision of the NBC to shut down DAAR Communication was reversed by a court order

Barely 24 hours after DAAR Communications which house AIT, Ray Power 100 FM and Faaji FM was reopened, the National Broadcasting Commission NBC has insisted that the media house is still breaching broadcasting codes.

According to the NBC in a statement on Saturday, the commission disclosed that DAAR Communications has resume breaking broadcasting codes having just been recently opened.

The commission had on Thursday shut down DAAR Communications but it went back on air after a court order was passed.

Below is an extract of the statement released, it read in part, “The National Broadcasting Commission wishes to take note of the ex parte order granted by the Federal High Court Abuja division on June 7, 2019 to Daar Communications Plc.

“The ex parte order was sequel upon a motion ex parte dated May 30, 2019 and filed on May 3, 2019, by Daar Communications Plc.

“This was before the directive from the NBC suspending the broadcasting licence of Daar Communications Plc on June 6, 2019.

“The commission also notes the continuelicenseh of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code by Daar Communications Plc.”

However, a report via Sahara Reporters made it known that security agencies have refused to leave the premises of DAAR Communications despite the court order that ruled that status quo should be maintained.

Earlier report via idonsabi.com made it known that DAAR Communications was shut down by the NBC for breaching broadcasting codes, which saw Nigerians reacting to the move.

While some applauded the National Broadcasting Commission NBCothers were of the opinion that the decision taken by the commission was political.
