D’Banj’s Endorsement Deal With Heritage Bank Allegedly Suspended

According to reports, Heritage Bank has suspended its endorsement deal allegedly worth N45 million with D’Banj till further notice.

This step is likely due to the recent rape allegations made against the Nigerian singer.

D’Banj whose real name is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo was accused of rape by Seyitan Babatayo who said that she was raped by the singer in 2018 in a hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. She also demanded a public apology from him via her lawyer.

Although D’Banj denied these allegations on social media and even sued for N100M compensation, he however allegedly arrested the girl without letting her have access to her lawyer and family, a step that resulted into a heavy backlash on social media.

Meanwhile, many Nigerians who were against the way he arrested the girl because it came across as intimidation have demanded that he is removed as an UN ambassador. As at today, more than 15,000 people have signed a petition demanding his removal.

D’banj had described his deal with Heritage Bank as the “best birthday gift as it happened on his 40th birthday, however, it looks like the birthday gift has come to a halt.
