Dean Henderson Signs For Manchester United From Sheffield United

Sheffield United’s Dean Henderson has agreed a new three year deal with Manchester United but has been sent on a season-long loan deal to Sheffield United.

The United academy graduate has been allowed to return to Sheffield United to garner some first team and Premier League experience.

The club also stand a good chance at extending the contract by a further year as per the new deal. Norwegian gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer highlighted the young goalkeeper’s potential, backing the youngster to become a quality goalkeeper while also stressing that the opportunity to play as first choice goalkeeper for a team in the Premier League would help greatly in the 22 year old’s development.

Dean Henderson shew his excitement for the new deal and his return to his boyhood club but was equally as pleased to continue at the Bramall Lane for another season.

The 22 year old said he had worked so hard up till this point and would do anything to repay the faith United had shown in him by resigning him. He also made it a point to acknowledge United’s vital role in he development of his potential.

Henderson said:

“The club has been amazing in designing an individual pathway to aid my development which will enable me to reach my potential and perform at the highest level possible. Signing this contract is such a proud moment for myself and my family; I’ve worked so hard to reach this point and I want to do everything I can to repay the faith the club has shown in me.”

“I am looking forward to being back at Bramall Lane, the opportunity to be reunited with the coaches and play in front of the amazing fans again is one that I am relishing. I cannot wait to enjoy a full season of Premier League football which I know will be hugely beneficial for my career.”
