Super Eagles player and captain has advised young payers not to go to China to play football.

Mikel Obi had left his 10 years standing with Chelsea to head over to China to play for Tijani Teda.

Reports has it that Chinese clubs offer huge financial incentives to get top European players over to China.

However, after only two years in China he ended his contract with Tianjin Teda in the winter transfer market and returned back to England.

Mikel Obi cited a need to be closer home with his family as reason for his return to England where he signed a short-term deal with Middlesbrough.

Mike Obi in his advise to young players stated that young players would regret it if they went for Chinese clubs.

In his words:

My advice to anyone thinking about going has a long think about it, you have to go at the right time.

I certainly wouldn’t say to anyone under the age of 30 to go there, they will regret it if they do.

It’s worth doing for a couple of years if only to learn a different culture, to give yourself an experience that takes you out of your comfort zone, but do not be tempted by the money if you are young.
