According to a latest report, the former Min. of Police Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Lame passed away in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness.
Prior to his death, the former Minister was the Santurakin Bauchi.
In a reaction to his death, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Dogara in his statement disclosed that he had lost a brother, leader and mentor.
Dogara in his statement described the late Ibrahim Yakubu Lame as a true democrat, foremost educator, peacemaker, advocate and champion of good governance in Bauchi state and Nigeria.

I received with shock the news of death of former Minister of Police Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Lame (Santurakin Bauchi) who died in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness. He was a statesman, patriot & leader par excellence who lived a life of selfless service.
He was a true democrat, foremost educator, peacemaker, advocate & champion of good governance in Bauchi state & Nigeria. As a statesman, he worked tirelessly to enthrone good governance & saw to the historic & unprecedented electoral victory of the incoming govt in our beloved state of Bauchi. It is regrettable that he did not live to witness the coming into office of the govt he helped to enthrone. He died at a time his elderly wisdom & counsel are much needed to steer the affairs of Bauchi state & indeed Nigeria. I have lost an elder brother, leader, mentor & true patriot who contributed immensely to the educational development of Bauchi state as Registrar, Principal, education Commissioner & later a school proprietor. Our condolences over this monumental loss go to his immediate family, friends/Associates & entire people of Bauchi state. May the Almighty God give us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
