Donald Trump took to his twitter page yesterday (February 20 2019) to announce that he has instructed for US born former Islamic Jihadist, Hoda Muthana to be barred from returning to America.

He tweeted:

I have instructed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and he fully agrees, not to allow Hoda Muthana back into the Country!

Read Trump’s tweet as shared below:

In adherence to his principal’s order, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo acknowledged that the US-born Jihadist will not be allowed back into the US.

He said:

Ms. Hoda Muthana is not a US citizen and will not be admitted into the United States. She does not have any legal basis, no valid US passport, no right to a passport, nor any visa to travel to the United States.

However, Muthana’s lawyer, Hassan Shilby doesn’t seem to agree with the president’s order and the legality of Mike Pompeo’s acknowledgement.

He argued that Muthana is a US citizen with a valid passport.

In his words:

She is a US citizen. She had a valid passport. She may have broken the law and, if she has, she’s willing to pay the price.

We cannot get to a point where we simply strip citizenship from those who break the law. That’s not what America is about. We have one of the greatest legal systems in the world, and we have to abide by it.

According to Shilby, his client wants due process and was willing to go to prison if convicted.
