Dr. Dre’s Wife Files For Divorce After 24 Years Of Marriage
Music producer, Dr. Dre and his wife, Nicole Young, have called it quits after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
Young, 50, filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Monday, June 29, 2020 and she’s also seeking spousal support from the 55-year-old Dr. Dre, who has amassed fortune in his time as an N.W.A. member, solo rapper, producer, co-owner of Death Row Records and founder and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics.
She and the acclaimed music producer whose birth name is Andre Young tied the knot in 1996. They have two children, 23-year-old son, Truice and 19-year-old daughter, Truly.
The rapper also has four children from previous relationships. Dr. Dre met Young in the mid-1990s while she was still married to then-husband Sedale Threatt.
At the time, Dre reportedly penned a romantic letter to Young, convincing her to leave Threatt and pursue a relationship with him instead.
