EFCC Nabs 5 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Uyo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Uyo zonal office, yesterday, April 3, 2019, nabbed five internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Akwa Ibom state.

A statement which was released by the EFCC agency in Uyo zonal office gave the names of the 5 apprehended suspects as Uchendu Denis, Osinachi Sam David, Chikezie Bright, Francis Martins and Okafor Emmanuel respectively.

The suspects were arrested at Nsini Odeyop Street, Shelter Afrik Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, following intelligence report of their suspicious activities around the area.

Meanwhile, as at the time when the suspects were arrested, it was found that the suspects, who were lodging in a 3 bedroom flat, used one of the rooms for their internet fraud activities.

Report has it that the list of Items which were recovered from the arrested 5 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo include: one hundred and twenty three sim cards, including a Turkish sim card, six Laptops, thirteen expensive mobile phones, several books and diaries containing several phone numbers and over three hundred email addresses, amongst others.

However, the 5 suspected internet fraudsters will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
