El-Rufai Clears Traffic on Abuja/Kaduna Highway [Video]
A video which showed Kaduna Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai interfering in the gridlock along Abuja/Kaduna Highway has gone viral on the internet.
iDONSABI authoritatively reports that some of the road users spend over 12 hours on the road which was also confirmed on social media.
It was gathered that the gridlock was caused by angry tanker drivers in the early hours of Friday.
They insisted that Governor El-Rufai meets with them before they remove their vehicles, following the killing of one of them by a police officer allegedly for refusing to pay N500 bribe.
Speaking on the situation, the governor said the State Commissioner of Police is investigating the matter and reporting to Kaduna Attorney-General for immediate prosecution of the trigger-happy officer, adding that the tanker drivers have no right to do what they did, and must pay the price as well.
“I just had the worst highway traffic experience of my life. It took us 12 hours from Abuja to Kaduna due to a gridlock. I have never seen a thing like that even in the movies. However the personal intervention of Governor @elrufai was helpful,” a Twitter user Twitted.

Road users have been lamenting on the challenges they have been facing on the road. At times, kidnappers also have a field day.

It was gathered that the officials of the Kaduna state government were immediately on the ground to resolve it and get the vehicles moving. I am on my way to the scene right now. The drivers will all be arrested and prosecuted for this. There are lawful means of expressing grievances. This is unacceptable!
