F-SARS Apprehends Governor Ajimobi Former’s Aide For Refusal To Submit Election Funds

The former Special Assistant on Youth and Student Matters to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, of Oyo State identified as odwin Obode has been apprehended by operatives of F-SARS.

iDONSABI gathers that Odwin Obode was arrested by men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) some days ago after his refusal to return the N18.5million he allegedly received from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State for the general election in Oyo state but did not spend a dime from it.

Reports has it that Odwin Obode worked for Governor Ajimobi during his first term as Governor but subsequently resigned with the explanation that he wanted to relocate outside Nigeria.

Meanwhile, he further went to work for Teslim Folarin, a two-term Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator who contested but lost, the 2015 Oyo State governorship election on PDP’s platform before joining the APC in 2017.

Furthermore, APC engaged Odwin Obode to ruin the 2019 elections and tilt it in their favour.

A senior party member who is yet to be identified said in a statement:

“Ajimobi gave him money to mobilise students as security cover for the election,” “They gave him N18.5million for the election, but they later found out that he didn’t do anything; he was just having fun, drinking, on election day. They were even calling him to get field reports on election day, but they couldn’t get him.

“The problem now is that despite the best efforts of the Governor to recoup the money, Obode doesn’t want to return it.”

In addition, at the time when SARS officials searched his house last week, they discovered the bag with which the N18.5million was given to him. Also, the bag still has over N9million left in it.

Odwin Obodo was then apprehended but later let go, though he still has to report at the F-SARS office on a regular basis.
