You’re a very important part of our victories! Thanks to all my fans around the world and particularly to the portuguese people that helped us reach another historical win for Portugal! You’ll allways have a special place in my heart!”, his post read.

Fans of the Portuguese have come out to laud his achievements with some making it a point to compare him with Lionel Messi, his long decade rival for the tag G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time).

Some others felt that Ronaldo who is seemingly behind Virgil Van Dijk and Lionel Messi in the Balon D’Or race was only staging a PR.

Some others felt indifferent to the post and felt there was no need to stage any comparisons between Ronaldo and his Argentine rival, Messi.
