Just in- FCT Indigenes Demands Relocation of Army From Their Land, Barricade NASS

Information reaching iDONSABI indicates that indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the aegis of a group, Coalition of Abuja Native Communities, on Tuesday again barricaded all entry points into the National Assembly Complex.

A similar protest was carried out by the group last week Thursday demanding that the Army should relocate from their land in the Zuba axis of FCT.

The main entrance to the National Assembly and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) axis had been barricaded as at the time of filing this report.

In 2014, the Federal Government demolished some homes belonging to Abuja natives.

This led to protest by the community by blocking a major highway for six hours. This led to the arrest of some of their leaders who were detained in prison for more than a month.

More to come.
