FG feeds school children with 594 cattle, 138,000 chickens, 6.8million eggs, millions of fishes weekly – Osinbajo
The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has sparked an outrage online with the N-Power feeding programme.
In a recent update on the N-Power school feeding programmme, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo stated that the federal government has been able to provide a balanced meal for every one of the 9,300,892 pupils in 49,837 public primary schools in 26 states across Nigeria.
Yemi Osinbajo stated clearly that the federal government feeds school children in public school pupils with 594 cattle, 138,000 chickens, 6.8million eggs and 83 metric tons of fish on a weekly basis.
He further stated that the programme employs 95,422 cooks and over 100,000 small holder farmers linked to the programme who he says supply local ingredients to the programme.
Despite the seemingly welcoming note of the Vice President’s statements, it sparked outrage online with netizens stating that it is apparently a lie by the federal government to deceive the populace.
