FG Gives Reason For Change Of Name Of Twitter Handle

The Federal Government of Nigeria has on Thursday made some changes to it’s verified Twitter handle. Consequently, the handle’s name has been changed from @AsoRock to @NigeriaGov.

According to a tweet via this Twitter handle, the FGN has effected this change to take cognisance of the fact that the handle and it’s resulting tweets represents and exists on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The tweet read:

“NOTIFICATION: Twitter Handle Change | From @AsoRock to @NigeriaGov, to more accurately reflect the fact that this handle represents, and exists on behalf of, the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

idonsabi.com also reported that Kingsley Moghalu, a one-time Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria sent a warning to President Buhari over his CBN directive on food importation.

The 2019 YPP Presidential candidate insisted that the Apex bank was an independent institution and should be left to discharge its duties independently without any influence from any political authority.

He said that the CBN was supposed to protect the interests of the people from the whims and caprices of politicians.
