A former England boss, Glen Hoddle has drawn comparisons between Alexander-Arnold and Gerard. Another England great, Michael Owen also considers the 21-year-old a world class player.

Glen Hoddle describes the fullback as possessing the passing range of Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes and David Beckham. Consequently, he is tipped to be keep a place in England’s first-eleven for the next 10 years.

Alexander-Arnold already has nine senior caps for England under his belt.

He has already gone ahead of Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier in the pecking order at right-back position with the Liverpool defender now considered the world best in this role.

His performances for Merseysode outfit, Liverpool suggests that he could form a vital part of England’s squad in the coming decade.

He has continuously provided assists for Liverpol and as atimes chipped in goals for the Premier League leaders. He’s also improved his defensive side of the game.

Former England boss, Hoddle in an interview with Premier League productions said:

“You don’t need to coach him too much, you just make an adjustment here and there.

“He’s got an array of talent like a midfield player, he can pick a pass like any midfield player.

“What makes it easier for him is that he’s not in the centre of the pitch where it’s all 360 degrees going on around him, he’s out wide.

“When he picks the ball up, nine times out of 10 he’s got nobody behind him but a linesman. He knows he’s got no pressure coming on him, everything is inside him.

“He can pass like Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard. He has got wonderful vision and ability to manipulate the ball exactly where it needs to be.

“He’s got the world at his feet. He’s an international now, he could play in that role for 10 years plus.”

Michael Owen quite agrees with that school of thought as the former United player believes the full-back is already at the top of the game.
