Manchester United midfielder, Fred has finally gotten married to his fiancee, Monique Salum. The pair have now officially tied the knot, although many believe they had done so last summer.
The couple have a son who was born earlier this year. It is believed that the former Shakhtar Donetsk man didn’t slate his wedding because he was hoping to be a part of the Brazilian team who just lifted the Copa America title.
Fred and wife Monique Salum tied the knot during the weekend, a reason for the Brazilian not being on the plane to Australia with the rest of the Manchester United squad.
Fred could have followed Victor Lindelof’s example to avoid missing out on the pre season tour. Lindelof wedded at the end of the 2017/18 season just before the World Cup.
It is unclear whether the Brazilian will rejoin the squad. Fred missed part of the pre-season last summer because of his World Cup action. The only other missing players from the squad at the moment are Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sanchez who featured for his Chile side in the third place final of the Copa America.
Former Arsenal man, Alexis Sanchez is currently on vacation after playing a key role for his National side in the Copa America while Timothy Fosu-Mensah is recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained during the season. Man United midfielder, Dean Henderson is also expected to return to Sheffied United on loan.
Fred inked a deal with Manchester United last summer, moving from Shakhtar for a fee of £52 million but struggled to nail a place in the first team setup of Norwegian gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Red Devils are scheduled to face Leeds United in Perth on Wednesday before leaving Australia to continue his tour in Singapore.
Manchester United have added Daniel James to the midfield and might be looking to add a name or two before the end of the summer transfer window.
