Funke Akindele Celebrates Husband’s Birthday With Crew During Lockdown; This Is Why

Film Producer, Funke Akindele has replied a user who said she could have lost her contract with Dettol would have been seen as a witch hunt.

Akindele, who is the producer of Jennifer’s diary had celebrated her husband’s 43rd birthday with her crew members. To a Twitter user, @youngfortguru, this was in against the lockdown order issued by the authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This has made the Nollywood actress be the talking point on Twitter.

“Losing this contract by @funkeakindele, in my opinion, would not be seen as witch hunt but simply stupidity,” the user wrote.

Replying to the tweet, the producer explained that she is not flouting any directives as the crew members have been in the estate with her filming one of her projects, Omo Ghetto Saga before the order was issued.

“Uncle don’t create unnecessary sensation. #omoghettothesaga was to be filmed Before the lockdown and some of us had been camped in Amen estate. So we had to stay in there. So we are safe and happy!!! Let’s not be NEGATIVE!!,” she wrote.

It could be recalled that Akindele had promoted clean handwashing with a disinfectant product some weeks ago as part of the awareness created for curtailing the spread of COVID-19.

She didn’t waste time to reply to a user who opined that she could be tested positive for the dreaded virus.
