Ghislaine Maxwell, Associate of Jeffrey Epstein, Is Arrested

Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend and longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested Thursday on criminal charges linked to his sex-trafficking operation.

Maxwell had kept a low profile, and her location was unknown since Epstein’s arrest last July on charges that he abused and trafficked in women and girls between 2002 and 2005.

She was arrested in Bradford, New Hampshire, at 8.30am.

Ms. Maxwell was accused of helping Jeffrey Epstein “recruit, groom and abuse” multiple girls, including one as young as 14.

Maxwell’s arrest is coming nearly a year after Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself in August 2019 in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center where he was been jailed pending his trial on the federal sex-trafficking charges.

According to documents, Maxwell “befriended” some of these victims, she and Epstein spent time forging relationships with the girls, by taking them shopping and to the movies.

After forming relationships, the documents alleged that, “Maxwell would try to normalize sexual abuse for a minor victim by, among other things, discussing sexual topics, undressing in front of the victim, being present when a minor victim was undressed, and/or being present for sex acts involving the minor victim and Epstein”.
