Gombe State Tragedy Sees 10 People Burnt Beyond Recognition

No fewer than 10 people have been confirmed to have died, with several cars burnt in the process, after a petroleum tanker exploded at Bomala Bridge axis of Gombe state, capital of Gombe, on the afternoon of Saturday, April 13th.

A witness informed several sources that the petrol-laden tanker collided with a truck which was carrying bottled water along Gombe southern bypass.

The eye witness further stated that more than 10 dead bodies which were burnt beyond recognition were removed from the scene by staffs of the Nigerian Red Cross Society.

Meanwhile, some officials of the Gombe State Fire Service were however around the area and have succeeded in putting out the fire as at the time of filing this report.
