Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode says he is politically wiser now
– Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode has revealed that he is politically wise as he prepares to ends his one term as Governor of Lagos State in few weeks
– He disclosed that he came to power as a technocrat but he is leaving as a political technocrat
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode was at the Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday, where he went to visit Pres. Muhammadu Buhari in what he termed a ‘thank you visit.’
Pres. Muhammadu Buhari had made a one day visit to Lagos State last month to inaugurate some projects embarked upon by the outgoing Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode will be the first Governor of Lagos State since 1999 that will serve for one term.
The likes of the All Progressive Congress APC National Leader and also the current Min. for Power, House and Work, Babatunde Raji Fashola both served as Governors of Lagos state for two terms.
Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode lost his bid to return to office for second term during the APC primary election in the state where he lost to Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu went ahead to win the state governorship election that took place 9th March and he is set to take over in few weeks time.
Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode while responding to a question on the lessons he had learnt in office revealed that he is now wiser.
He hinted that he came to power as technocrat but he is leaving as techno-politician.
Akinwunmi Ambode said, “You see, every politician learns every day.
“The fact remains that I came in as a technocrat so I call myself a techno-politician, but I think I am wiser now.
“I am more of a politician than a technocrat.”
