– Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu stated that he is unaware of his suspension from the APC
– He disclosed that his suspension from the APC is a rumour
According to some reports released yesterday, it was disclosed that the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress APC had suspended Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu over anti-party activities.
However, in a counter statement released by Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Segun Ajiboye on Saturday, he disclosed that his boss was yet to receive any query from the All Progressive Congress National Working Committee.
Mr. Segun Ajiboye in his statement disclosed that the Ondo state Governor is unaware of the suspension and the report is a rumour.
He however added that the issue on ground is an internal matter which will be handled by the party.
Governor Rotimk Akeredolu’s spokesman said: “As far as we are concerned, it is a rumour. The governor did not receive any query. The matter itself is an internal affair of the party which will be handled by the party.”
But a report has made it known that the alleged decision taken by the APC National Working Committee has caused friction among party members loyal to Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu and those who are displeased with what is going on in the APC at state level in Ondo.
The report hinted that both sides have taken to their social media accounts to blast one another.
One of the loyalist to Gov. Akeredolu, Hon Otito Atikase, who happens to be the caretaker Chairman of Ilaje Local Government stated that the Ondo Governor is a principled man and would not allow anything that is not right.
He said, “Aketi is a principled man who does not play politics with ‘anything goes’. He will not allow anything that is not right to be done.”
