Yesterday, February 5th, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State sacked the Commissioner for Information identified as Bello Muhammad Goronyo, following his decision and action to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal’s Director-General for Media and Public Relations identified as Malam Abubakar Shekara, disclosed this in a statement in Sokoto state earlier.
Governor Tambuwal’s Director-General for Media and Public Relations, Malam Abubakar Shekara said in a statement:
“Gov. Aminu Tambuwal has relieved Barrister Bello Goronyo of his appointment as Commissioner for Information with immediate effect. The Permanent Secretary has been directed to take over the affairs of the Ministry immediately,”
Malam Abubakar Shekara further made it clear that the decision for the Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, to relieve the commissioner for information, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, of his duty was a sequel to the alleged sabotaging of the state government’s efforts on its laudable programmes and activities in the state.

The now-former Commissioner for Information, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, had yesterday evening, February 5th, decamped from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Commissioner for Information to the Sokoto state government, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who was also identified to be the Chairman, Publicity and Media Committee of PDP Governorship Campaign Council in Sokoto State, announced his defection at APC campaign rally in Wamakko prior to his sacking by the Sokoto state Governor.
It seems that the decision to sack the Commissioner for Information, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, was due because the action which he committed of defecting from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) is unacceptable since Sokoto state is governed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
