Governors React to Supreme Court’s Judgements

Some of the governors whose elections were contested at the Supreme Court have reacted to the respective judgements.

Overwhelmed by the goodwill and the congratulatory messages he had received, Oyo governor, Seyi Makinde said that the judgment has renewed his faith and confidence in the judiciary as the last hope for the oppressed was rewarded.

“We’re deeply thankful to you, the people of Oyo State, for your overwhelming support throughout the judicial process. We remain committed to acting in your best interest, as we continue to deliver on our people-centred policies as outlined in our Road Map for Accelerated Development.”

Ogun governor, Dapo Abiodun said he can now further concentrate on giving dividends of democracy to the electorates as all distractions are finally over.

“Thank you, Ogun State people, for this deserved victory. You stood by us through the tedious legal proceedings up till when we again emerged victorious – for the fourth time.

“Now, we can further concentrate on getting dividends of democracy to you, as all distractions are finally over.”

Others whose elections were confirmed by the apex court are Kaduna governor, Nasir el-Rufa’i, and his Nasarawa counterpart, Abdullahi Sule.
