– The Nigeria Forum for Good Governance and Leadership has condemned Mr. Ayodele Fayose for his statement about Obasanjo
– The Group stated that Fayose should face his corruption charges instead of mudslinging against the former President
A group known as the Nigeria Forum for Good Governance and Leadership has reacted to the statement of former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose about former Pres. Olusegun Obasanjo.
Fayose in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday had applauded Pres. Muhammadu Buhari for honouring late Chief MKO Abiola on June 12, he described it a shame on Obasanjo.
The former Ekiti Governor went on to add that it was the former Pres. ego that didn’t make him honour MKO Abiola or recognize June 12.
However, the Nigeria Forum for Good Governance and Leadership via it President, Prof. Tejumade Akitoye-Rhodes in his statement on Friday in Lagos state condemned Fayose’s statement about Obasanjo which he described as a mudslinging against the former Pres.
Akitoye-Rhodes added that Ayo Fayose should focus on his corruption charges instead.
”At a time all patriots are concerned about the multifarious challenges affecting the continuity of our nation, we at the Nigerian Forum for Good Governance and Leadership advise Mr Fayose to focus his attention on the corruption cases against him.
”He should face his cases in courts rather than engage in cheap mudslinging against a revered figure like Chief Obasanjo, who remains a dogged fighter for fairness and equity not only in this nation but across the world.
Akitoye-Rhodes also stated that Fayose can’t get a soft ground by praising Pres. Buhari, who he had constantly abused and berated.
”If Mr Fayose thinks he can soften the ground for himself by praising President Buhari over June 12 Democracy Day honour for Abiola, he is deceiving himself. ”We are sure President Buhari who had been constantly abused and berated by Fayose is not fooled either,” he added.
