Gunmen Shoots Delta State Governor’s Aide To Death

The Special Assistant on Youth Development to Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta state governor identified as Lawrence Akpomiemie, has been killed.

According to a series of the report, Lawrence Akpomiemie, the Special Assistant on Youth Development to the Delta State Governor, was on his way out with his girlfriend when unknown gunmen ambushed him and shot him dead at close range in the Uvwie Local Government Area of the state on the night of Friday, February 15th.

Meanwhile, pandemonium broke out around Uvwie Local Government area afterwards as the supporters of Lawrence Akpomiemie began to attack the home of those believed to be behind the killing of the Special Assistant on Youth Development to the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Delta State Police command has sent operatives have to the Uvwie Local Government area and are as well making frantic efforts to restore peace in the area which has been taken over by the angry youths.

In addition, the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue yet unidentified.

Reports have failed to arrive at the decision if the girlfriend of the deceased was killed in the attack as well.

Some sources also report that before his appointment by Governor Okowa in 2016, Lawrence Akpomimie was standing trial for murder and other crime but was controversially released from prison before being appointed by Governor Okowa.
