History of Yobe State Nigeria
Yobe State is one of the thirty-six states of Nigeria situated at the North-East geopolitical zone. The state was formed out of old Borno State one of the Largest state in land areas. It was confirmed that Borno State was too large for easy administration and useful development as well as ethnic disputes among the people. This therefore caused the forming of a new State which is Yobe State. Yobe state has boundaries with Borno State (eastern axis), Jigawa and Bauchi state (west), Gombe state (south), and republic of Niger (North). The state is divided into seventeen (17) local government areas under three units which are called the senatorial District Zones.
History of Yobe State
Yobe State came into existence on the 27th August 1991, by the General Ibrahim Babangida (Military Government). Its capital is Damaturu. The State is referred as ’’ The Young shall Grow ’’. The first military governor is Sani Daura Ahmed while the first civilian governor is Bukar Abba Ibrahim. The State is mainly into agriculture as a source to means to boost the economy.

Ethnic Groups in Yobe State
Yobe State is mainly populated by the Hausa and fulnis. However there are five major tribes in Yobe State, which are Hausa, Fulani, Karekare, Bade and Kanuri. Yobe State, they are rich in culture and are known for traditions rising from the ancient Historical connection with the North Arabian.

According to the national censors of 2006, Yobe State had about 2,321,339 people living in it with an Area of 45,502 km2

Economy of Yobe State
The Inhabitants of Yobe State are mainly into agricultural produce, Livestock (rearing animals) and fishing. These improve the labour market in this State. They are also rich in culture and heritage, there mineral which includes gypsum, Kaolen and quartz. Farming produce includes, gum, Arabic, groundnuts, beans, cotton. Yobe State is has the largest cattle market in West Africa situated at Ptiskum local Government Area.

Government of Yobe state
Yobe state has three Arms of Government: they are
- The Executive Arm
- The Legislative Arm
- The Judicial Arm
The Executive Arm of Yobe State
This Arm is headed by the State governor assisted by the commissioners who the governor appoints to head different ministries of the State. Ibrahim Geidam is the current governor of Yobe State.
The Legislative Arm of Yobe State
This is the State house of Assembly in Yobe State. It is made up of 24 members voted in by the electorates of the 24 constituencies in the State. Adamu Dala Dogo is the current speaker of the State Assembly.
The Judicial Arm of Yobe State
This Arm of the State is headed by the chief judge of the State to ensure justice in all areas. Justice Garba Nabaruma is the current chief Judge of the State.
