I Am Indebted for Your Service And Sacrifice, Atiku Lauds Military on Armed Forces Days Celebration

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election has lauded the Nigerian military over their contribution to nation building.

January 15 is annually set aside to honour members of the military who fought and are still fighting in various theatres of conflict within Nigeria and across the world.

It is also used to celebrate the living among the Armed Forces who have suffered some form of deprivation, owing to their experience while on the battlefront.

Atiku took to his Twitter page, praying that their sacrifices not to be in vain.

“As always, I remember our fallen heroes who gave their lives for our nation. I remain grateful and indebted for their service and sacrifice. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends. May their sacrifices never be in vain. #ArmedForcesRemembranceDay -AA,” he tweeted.

The day also marked the surrender of Biafra troops to the Federal troops which signaled the end of the Nigerian civil war which ended in 1970.

Annually, officials of the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Nigerian legion converge in different centers across the nation to celebrate with parades.
