‘I Can’t Be Silenced’, Fayose’s Aide Lere Olayinka Says After Getting Out of Detention

Lere Olayinka, the media aide of former Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose has said he won’t be silenced.

Before his release from the detention of Ekiti State Police Command, he reportedly spent more than 24 hours over alleged financial impropriety leveled against him by the state government.

Olayinka detained on Monday by the police after he had honoured their invitation to answer allegation leveled against him.

After writing his statement, he denied the allegations and was to be granted administrative bail with two sureties as part of the requirements.

iDONSABI gathered that there was some kind of order from above or a change of mind by the police that made them detained him further till today, March 5, to be arraigned in court over some allegations.

But was later released after being arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged N13.5 million fraud.

It was also gathered from a reliable source that his offense was the failure to remit revenue accrued to the Broadcasting station to the tune of N13.5 million to the account of Ekiti State Govt. He allegedly authorized travelling allowance of N7m in his name for journeys not embarked upon.

He took to his Twitter page to announce his return saying: “The lion is back and it won’t stop roaring.  The eagle has returned with sharper precision.”

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Government or the Police are yet to comment on the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
