Ighalo Banned From United Training Ground Due To Coronavirus Fears

Manchester United have arrived at a decision to keep Odion Ighalo away from the club’s AON training complex due to fears of the coronavirus.

According to a report by the Mirror, Ighalo who is on a six-month loan with the Red devils has been training at the GB Taekwondo Centre in Manchester instead. He has been undergoing his training sessions under the supervision of Manchester-based performance coach Wayne Richardson.

The former Watford striker hasn’t featured in a competitive game since December 6. Hence, his performance training which is presently done at the GB Taekwondo Centre not far from the ground of derby rivals, Manchester City.

It was reported only a few days ago that he wasn’t allowed to join his teammates in Marbella, Spain owing to fears that he might not be allowed back into the UK with the country placing travel restrictions on people who have been to China in the last 2 weeks.

The British government described the Coronavirus as an imminent threat to the health of people and said anyone found with the disease can forcibly be quarantined if they are considered to be a threat to the health of the public. So far, there’s been nine confirmed cases of the virus in the country.

As the Nigerian’s 2 weeks incubation period is coming to a close, he is now poised to link up with his mates on Friday ahead of United’s Premier League game away at Stamford Bridge.

United gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that Ighalo would be a part of the travelling 18-man squad poised to lock horns with West London side, Chelsea.
