Bayern Munich starlet, Alphonso Davies has expressed his intentions of going into acting after he calls it time on his footballing career.
The teenager made this knowing following the volume of attention he received on his Tiktok videos during the coronavirus crisis.
Davies made a switch to Bayern munich for a £17m fee from Vancouver Whitecaps in the summer of 2018, then joined the rest of the squad at the Allianz arena the following January.
The teenager has since represented the Bavarians 35 times across all competitions, finding the net twice and racking up nine assists in total.
The 19-year-old has been an integral part of Hansi Flick’s Bayern squad, displaying a stellar performance in Bayern’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie.
Davies has been tipped to go on to be the very best in his department if he continues on his current trajectory. He’s also gained popularity for recent videos he uploaded to social media.
In a chat with former Tottenham and Barcelona forward, Gary Lineker via Zoom, Davies said he plans on pursuing a career in acting when he’s done playing football actively.
“Football comes first, but I want to be an actor eventually. I like entertaining people and TikTok gives me the platform to do so,” said Davies.
“It allows fans to not only see what I do on the field, but also to get to know my personality a bit more. And it passes the time during the corona crisis when we are all staying home.”
The starlet also discussed his excitement on hearing about Bayern’s interest in him while he was still in the MLS.
“There were rumours in the air that all these different clubs were looking at me but I didn’t know which specific clubs. No one told me anything. And then I got a message: ‘Bayern Munich want to meet you.’
“I was like: ‘Oh my god. Really?’ It was both exciting and scary. I just had to prove to myself that I could compete at this level.”
