In-Form Iheanacho Bags A Goal And Assist In Leicester Trashing Of Villa

Kelechi Iheanacho continues with his incredible form he’s picked up of late as he helps his side record a 4-1 demolishing win away at Aston Villa.

The Nigeria International scored his fourth goals of the campaign to help Leicester City hold firmly to second place on the League standings.

Before the former Manchester City man found the net, he assisted fellow striker, Jamie Vardy to help put the Foxes ahead just inside of 20 minutes.

With four minutes left on the clock to play just before the interval, Iheanacho doubled the lead after getting on to a cross from James Maddison. The cross was helped by a deflection from Ezri Konsa with Iheanacho converting a fine header.

It was a significant goal for the Nigerian who’s been made to sit on the bench in several outings before the coming of Brendan Rodgers. The 23-year-pld is beginning to make a strong case for himself having scored in all four appearances for the Foxes this term. Interestingly, this is as many as he has scored in his previous 42 games for Leicester City.

He has now been involved in six goals in two starts – in all competitions – against Aston Villa (four goals and two assists).

The former City player has come under scrutiny this term but now looks close to his best.

Although Jack Grealish halved the deficit at the stroke of halftime, it couldn’t do more than a consolation as goals from Jonny Evans and Jamie Vardy wrapped up a resounding win for the Foxes.

After putting an incredible showing, Iheanacho was replaced with Harvey Barnes while his compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi held on to his pivot position in the midfield.

Leicester City are currently second place on the lesgue standings having secured 38 points from six league outings. They would be hoping to make it nine wins on the bounce when they welcome Norwich City to the King Power Stadium.
