INEC Set To Hold Supplementary Presidential Elections On The 9th of March

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) earlier today, Friday 1st March 2019, stated that it would hold the supplementary elections on March 9, alongside the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections, according to close sources.

The National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee identified as Festus Okoye made this known in a statement issued earlier today.

In relation to the statement, the decision to hold the supplementary election was taken at the end of their meeting which was done on Thursday.

Recall that the Presidential election was conducted on February 23rd after it was postponed to February 16th while putting the blame on logistics.

Meanwhile, President Buhari was declared as the winner of the election but Atiku Abubakar and PDP were not happy about the decision and were so determined to go to court to counter the decision.
