Inter Milan Appoint Antonio Conte As Spalletti Successor

Former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte has been appointed manager of Serie A club, Inter Milan following the sack of Luciano Spalletti.

The 49-yr-old has been out of a job since his sack from Chelsea at the end of the season.

Conte spent two years at the Stamford Bridge where he won the Premier League and FA Cup trophies having won the first three of eight successive Serie A titles claimed by Juventus.

Under former manager, Luciano Spalletti led Inter Milan to fourth place on the Serie A standings, qualifying them for Champions League come next season.

“A new chapter in my life is beginning, I’m really excited,” Conte said.

“I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of how ambitious it is.

“I was struck by the club’s transparency and the desire to bring Inter back to where it belongs.”

Inter President, Steven Zhang said he was sure Antonio Conte was one of the best managers available and was sure the Italian gaffer would lead them to become one of the best in the world, a position where they have always belonged.

“I’m certain he’ll help us achieve our objective and fulfil our mission, one which has always remained the same: to make this club one of the best in the world again.”

The news came as a surprise to only few with Conte mooted as Spalletti’s speculation for some days coming as was filed in an earlier report by iDONSABI.com

The idea of Conte moving to Inter was aroused when the Italian gaffer was pictured sharing a photo with Inter’s media team and the club has now released an official statement as regards the signing of the 49-year old.

“Determined and ambitious, Antonio Conte is now beginning his Inter adventure,” the club statement reads.

“Right here before us, we have two entities with the same objective and outlook – that is to win. Head, heart and legs are the three words which sum up Conte’s career.”
