Israel Adesanya Becomes Undisputed UFC Champion, Prostrates For Parents (Video)

Nigerian UFC fighter, Israel Adesanya, became the UFC undisputed middleweight champion following a bout with Robert Whittaker, who he took out in the second round.

The 30-year-old with this victory remains unbeaten through his career. Stylebender, as he is known in the UFC, attributed his win to his parents by prostrating before them – in Yoruba-esque fashion- in front of a screaming crowd.

The Nigerian born UFC champion took only two rounds to put an end to Whittaker’s showboating and snatch the belt awarded to the undisputed middleweight champion.

The fight took place at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

Israel Adesanya has now stretched his unbeaten run in the UFC 243 rings to 18 bouts – 14 by knockouts and just four by referees decisions.

Despite coming into the bout as an underdog, the mixed martial artist came out tops and was full of praises for his parents.

As fun as it was to see an underdog take out a UFC fighter like Robert Whittaker in such manner, it was how his parents dressed in white jumped up in celebration, at the sound of the bell that caught the glare of many onlookers.

While his father full of joy raised his hands in excitement with his countenance lit up like that of a proud father; his rather emotional mum fell to her knees, appearing to thank God for the victory of her son.

After Israel Adesanya’s victory was announced, his parents stepped into the ring to take a picture with the UFC undisputed champion.

Stylebender had seen a good run since his signing into the UFC in December 2017.

Israel Adesanya kicked off his career with a KO win over Rob Wilkinson on February 11, 2018, and has done that once again, this time where it matters the most.

His MMA record now reads 18-0 and his UFC record 7-0
